What's new

Welcome to the Nebraska ASAP website!  A number of tools and templates to facilitate establishment of an institutional antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) has been added to the site (see links below).  Regularly scheduled blog posts will be published to highlight news and studies related to antimicrobial stewardship and antimicrobial use.  Sign-up for free email alerts.

1/14/2019: One new tool (SBAR for skin/soft-tissue infections) and three new guidance documents (How to use an SBAR for Antimicrobial Stewardship, Implementing SBAR for Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Justifying Inpatient Stay after IV to PO Switch) are now available.

11/15/2018: In observance of the 2018 Antibiotic Awareness Week, a new blog written by Dr. Ashraf reflects on how Nebraska ASAP is making everyone antibiotic aware.

11/13/2018: Dr. Tierney (Nebraska DHHS HAI Coordinator) and Dr. Ashraf (Nebraska ASAP Co-Medical Director) kicked off Antibiotic Awareness Week with this video message for the general public and a podcast for healthcare professionals produced by the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network.

11/6/2018: A blog on the upcoming U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week has been posted.  Please also check out the new Ambulatory Care section of the website.

10/15/2018: A blog about the much-anticipated outcomes of the MERINO trial has been posted.  Two Annual ASP Activity Report templates have been uploaded in the Tools and Templates for Long-Term Care section.
